When this photographer was asked to define photography, he described it with just three words: "travel, light and time." And looking at the variety of natural landscapes in his photographs, the viewer readily agrees. Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Argentina, Italy, France - it would be easier to list the countries that this talented landscape photographer has not yet visited.
Photographer Jakub Polomski was born in 1985 in Poland. His relationship with photography began in 2005, and by his own admission, it was a difficult time for him. “Then I just finished school and did not know at all what to do next. There were no plans for the future. Somehow I came across a magazine about countries and travel National Geographic “It was then that I got the idea to take up photography professionally.”
Polomsky did not have his own camera - he had to constantly borrow it. His first photographic experiences were the landscapes of his native Cieszyn, a city in southern Poland. After some time, there were enough photos to display them on small Internet platforms. Alas, but the beginner's “pen tests” were perceived negatively. “I remember then I received a lot of criticism in my address,” the photographer recalls.
Some would be unsettled by such an attitude of the pros to the work of a newcomer, but not Jakub Polomski. The attitude of the critics made him work at full capacity. Every day he spent eight to ten hours studying materials about photography, read a lot and, of course, photographed. In 2007, he first submitted his works to a photography competition - then he managed to get the third prize. And that was just the beginning. Now Polomski is a laureate of several prestigious national and international competitions. However, the most important award for Jakub is the one from National Geographic in the category "Polish Landscape".
Another talented master, artist Michael Gregory from California, paints stunning landscapes. His impressive work so believable that at first glance they cannot be distinguished from photographs. He mainly depicts dilapidated houses and old barns, lost in the middle of magnificent nature.
