Today marks 39 years since the release of the legendary film "Meeting place can not be Changed" … The premiere on television took place on March 29, 1979. It was timed to coincide with Police Day and coincided with Birthday director - Stanislav Govorukhin … During the filming, there were many curiosities and funny incidents.

The film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed" is based on the novel "The Era of Mercy" by the brothers Arkady and Georgy Vainer. Soon after the authors gave Vladimir Vysotsky one of the first copies of the book, he came to them with the words: "I came to stake out Zheglov." Weiners were surprised: "What does it mean to stake out?" Vysotsky replied: “This will be a film. Probably big. And this is my role. Nobody will play Zheglov for you like me … ". And he was absolutely right!

For the sake of Vysotsky, the Weiners even agreed to change the appearance of the protagonist: in the novel, Zheglov was a 25-year-old tall and broad-shouldered handsome man. Director Stanislav Govorukhin recalled: “I could approve Volodya without samples, because for me, as for all of us, it was clear that only he should play this role. But this happened at a time when he had never appeared on television, and here - such an odious figure - in a five-part film! Therefore, I made several samples of other actors for this role, who obviously could not compete with Vysotsky. And when I showed the leadership the samples, I showed these samples, which were, of course, much worse than Vysotsky's. The authorities were very convinced by this”.

The main character was supposed to sing in each episode. But the performance of his own songs led to the fact that the image of Zheglov was overshadowed by Vysotsky himself. Therefore, Govorukhin abandoned this idea, which led to resentment and quarrels. Before the very beginning of filming, Vysotsky generally wanted to refuse - he was allowed to travel abroad, and he was going to travel with Vladi. The director convinced him not to quit working on the role, the whole filming process was adjusted to him, waiting for his return to the country.

“Regarding the painting“The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed”I will not give interviews. And not because I have nothing to say … We made this film with friends, the clan. I got pleasure from work, not that pleasure, but bathed in some moments of the role. And I won't say anything else,”Vysotsky said.

A serious struggle unfolded for the role of Sharapov: A. Abdulov, S. Nikonenko, E. Leonov-Gladyshev, Yu. Shlykov and even S. Sadalsky passed tests. The Weiner brothers planned to invite E. Gerasimov, but he was busy in another film. When V. Konkin was approved for the role of Sharapov, the writers were very unhappy.

12 actresses auditioned for the main female role - Sergeant Sinichkina. Vysotsky persuaded the director to give this role to Marina Vlady. But the artistic council was categorically against - a real Soviet citizen with an impeccable reputation, and not a foreigner, was supposed to play the girlfriend of the fighter against the bandits.

Larisa Udovichenko was invited to play the role of Vary, but she wanted to play Manka Bond. And she turned out to be so convincing in this image that after the release of the film they began to write to her from prisons: “Do not grieve! I’ll go out and you’ll be mine!”And one of the prisoners even came to her house after his release. The actress claims that the catch phrase "Bond or Abligation?" escaped from her accidentally, since she really did not know how to spell this word.

For Stanislav Sadalsky, the role of pickpocket Kirpich became one of the first and brought all-Union fame. The constant jokes of Vysotsky and Sadalsky made Konkin feel uncomfortable - it seemed to him that they did not like him (his candidacy for the role of Sharapov was imposed by Central Television).

Vysotsky and Kuravlev in the film were supposed to be avid billiard players, but neither one nor the other knew how to play at all. In the frame, the cue in the hands of them was held by the master of sports of the USSR, Odessa citizen Vladimir Ivanov.
