Joseph Vissarionovich had three children and at least nine grandchildren. The youngest of them was born in 1971 in America. It is interesting that almost no one from the second generation of the Dzhugashvili family even saw their famous grandfather, but everyone has their own opinion about him. Someone neatly tells their own children about their grandfather's crimes, while someone actively defends the "leader of the peoples" and writes books, justifying the difficult decisions that he had to make in difficult times.
The most famous of all Stalin's descendants can be considered, probably, the eldest son of Vasily Stalin and his first wife Galina. Alexander Vasilievich Burdonsky died in 2017 at the age of 75. He bore the title of People's Artist of Russia and for many years worked as a production director at the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army. He described his attitude to his grandfather as "difficult."
In an interview, Alexander Vasilyevich expressed his point of view sharply:. Stalin's grandson in his youth bore this loud surname, but then changed it to his mother's surname,. However, with age, the famous director realized the role of the "leader of the peoples" as a historical person.
Today it is difficult to say in which film Alexander Burdonsky was invited, but his cousin really played the role of Stalin. Outward resemblance to his grandfather in this case is undeniable, although Evgeny Yakovlevich Dzhugashvili was born from an unregistered marriage, therefore not all descendants of Joseph Vissarionovich recognize him as a relative.
The marriage of Yakov Dzhugashvili and Olga Golysheva was upset even before the wedding, although Joseph Vissarionovich himself at that time even seemed to approve of the choice of his son and gave the future spouses a small apartment in Moscow. After a quarrel, Olga left for her native Uryupinsk, where she soon gave birth to a son and wrote him down under her last name. Only two years later, Yakov learned about the birth of the heir and insisted that the boy be given the surname Dzhugashvili.
Yevgeny Yakovlevich graduated from the Air Force Engineering Academy, spent many years serving in the armed forces, rose to the rank of colonel and received the degree of candidate of historical sciences. It was this grandson who headed the Society of Ideological Heirs of Joseph Vissarionovich and in 1990 played the role of his grandfather in the film "Yakov, the Son of Stalin." Several times he appeared in court in defense of the honor and dignity of I. V. Stalin (lawsuits against Novaya Gazeta, radio station Echo of Moscow, etc.)
Yevgeny Yakovlevich Dzhugashvili died in 2016, and in the same year the Internet exploded with strange news: in America, another granddaughter of Stalin arranged a shocking photo session and posted her pictures for everyone to see. The 42-year-old woman sported torn tights, a submachine gun and many tattoos.
US citizen Chris Evans is the youngest child of Svetlana Alliluyeva. Stalin's daughter emigrated in 1967 and married the architect William Peters in America (for her it was already her fifth marriage). Daughter Olga was born in 1971, later the girl changed her name. Stalin's youngest granddaughter considers herself to be one hundred percent American. She was brought up in a boarding school, does not speak Russian, is fond of tattoos and runs a small antique shop. She almost did not communicate with her mother, but somehow she told reporters:
It must be said that among the descendants of Joseph Vissarionovich one can find representatives of very different professions: among the great-grandchildren bearing the surname Dzhugashvili, Vissarion Evgenievich is a Georgian director of documentary films and Yakov Evgenievich is an artist; granddaughter Galina Yakovlevna Dzhugashvili was a famous philologist and wrote memoirs about her family; another grandson, Joseph G. Alliluyev (Morozov), saved people all his life, working as a cardiologist, and his sister, Ekaterina Yurievna Zhdanova, is a volcanologist and lives in Kamchatka.
The life of the secretary general's children was least of all like a fairy tale, perhaps that is why many of his descendants are inclined to blame their famous grandfather, because even Stalin's beloved daughter became the most famous "defector"
