They had one father for two. Only for Maria Mironova, he was dear, but for Maria Golubkina … Also dear, because at that time she did not even know that her biological dad was not Andrei Mironov at all. From childhood, the two daughters of the actor were compared with each other, closely watching how one or the other is more successful, talented, closer to the father. And they themselves did not communicate at all for a long time. And to the journalists' questions about their relationship, both answered: "We are not sisters."
Two Mary
In the life of Andrei Mironov there were many fans and two marriages - with Ekaterina Gradova and with Larisa Golubkina. The first gave birth to his daughter Maria, the second entered his life with his daughter Maria, whom the actor adopted. The girls even bore the same surname until Maria Vladimirovna, the mother of Andrei Mironov, demanded that the son's stepdaughter bear the mother's surname, categorically declaring: Maria Mironova should be alone. Later it became clear how right Maria Vladimirovna was, because both girls followed in the footsteps of their parents and became actresses.
It just so happened that during the life of the actor, he spent more time with his daughter Larisa Golubkina. He took her to the Bird Market, scolded her for poor grades in school, shamed her for bad behavior. His own daughter never complained about the lack of attention from her father, but they did not see each other very often. However, this did not affect her attitude towards dad. He was always in her life.
The girls did not communicate with each other at all, although they studied in parallel classes at the same school. At best, they greeted each other, but more often they just walked by. During their school years, they even had one friend for two, but it never occurred to anyone to be friends. However, no one tried to make friends with each other, at that time it was not accepted. Maria Mironova was incredibly similar to her father in manners, impeccable taste and strength of character. Ekaterina Gradova has repeatedly admitted in her interviews: Masha even sleeps in the same position as her father slept.
They lost their father at the age of 14. Maria Mironova and Ekaterina Gradova were at the Riga Opera, when Andrei Mironov, during the play "Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro", fell right on the stage. Maria Golubkina, together with her mother, waited for her father to return to the hotel.
The actor's own daughter during the performance, according to my mother's recollections, was in the orchestra pit. Seeing how her father fell, she immediately ran out onto the stage and then was there all the time. She even went with him to the hospital in an ambulance, decisively closing the door in front of those who were still going to sit next to the unconscious actor. Two days later, on August 16, 1987, Andrei Mironov passed away.
Even the death of their father did not bring the girls closer. Having survived the loss, they went on through life, each in its own way. They both entered the Shchukin School, however, Maria Mironova very quickly got married, and after the birth of her son Andrei, she transferred to VGIK.
After graduating from college, Maria Golubkina was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Theater of Satire, where her father served for a quarter of a century. Maria Mironova, having received a diploma from VGIK, entered the legendary "Lenkom" under the leadership of Mark Zakharov.
Not sisters
They both became famous actresses, but still did not communicate with each other. And the journalists' questions were invariably answered: "We are not sisters!" In fact, both Marys were right, because they were not blood relatives.
But rivalry, as such, between them has never been. They had nothing to share, just as there was nothing to prove to each other. Each built her own career, not looking back at anyone and not trying to compare how much the other Maria is more successful in the profession or more talented.
Journalists have always tried to draw parallels between their lives and find out how the two Maries relate to each other. And their lives did not even intersect. Until one day they met during the filming of Pavel Lungin's film "Wedding", where Maria Mironova played the main character, Tanya, and Maria Golubkina appeared in the form of Sveta, her friend.
They were 25 years old and close communication on the set led to the fact that the actresses were finally able to really get to know each other. They were very different. Mironova is calm, restrained, reasonable. Golubkina is an impulsive, groovy, lover to say whatever he thinks. But suddenly the two Mary discovered how close they were internally, a kind of inextricable spiritual connection appeared between them.
Maria Golubkina sees the natural development of events in their rapprochement. She believes that even siblings begin to communicate closely with each other already in adulthood, because in childhood and adolescence, everyone is on their own, everyone has their own vision of life, their own affairs and problems.
Maria Mironova deliberately avoids the definition of "kinship", but at the same time admits that Masha is a very close person to her. They communicate a lot, call up on the phone and it is difficult to imagine that once the two Mary barely noticed each other.
True, both Marys never considered themselves rivals. But now they talk about each other with warmth and tenderness, diligently avoiding pretentious words. They have each other and this is the most important thing.
During the 46 years that were allotted to Andrei Mironov, he managed to perform more than 40 roles in films, play in dozens of theatrical productions and films-performances. One of the roles became fateful and fatal for him, because it was with her that Andrei Mironov's stellar career began, and it ended with it …
