In French there is a wonderful phrase bâtisseurs de l'imaginair, which literally translates as "the builder of the imaginary." Surrealist painter Joe Pilleta can rightfully be called that way, since the work of his life was construction unique home entitled "Utopix"! The Frenchman was not an architect, but he decided to make his fantasies come true. It took him about 30 years to build his dream house!
Construction of the house began in the 1970s, when the Pillett couple managed to buy 11 hectares of land on the Causse de Sauveterre plateau (France). It is a very rocky and desolate area that has been used for grazing sheep from time immemorial, but that did not stop Joe and his wife Dominica. As the young family wanted to build something functional and aesthetically pleasing at the same time, they set about making their dream come true!
The project was started in 1979, Joe did a lot on his own, sometimes his friends helped him. He managed to build a real igloo out of the stones, of which there were a great many in the area! In the construction of the domed ceiling, he used cement and wooden floors, and also decorated the top with stones.
In 1992, the building was completed and became popular with tourists. To make his home more attractive to visitors, Joe Pillett decorated the surrounding area with all kinds of sculptures. Funny stone sculptures and even a mini golf course appeared here! Of course, there is also a special exhibition of his drawings. You can find out more about the unique house on the website!
Home improvement is still ongoing. So, in 1997, the walls of the dwelling were insulated to make it comfortable here in winter, and in 2000, electricity appeared in a modern stone igloo! Only the igloo built from the books of Miler Lagos can be compared in originality with this dwelling!

Embodiment. Glowing Glass Skeleton by Eric Franklin
Neon-glowing sculptures in the form of human internal organs, the Anatomical Neon art project, could be a continuation or addition to another art project called Embodiment, if it were not for the fact that they were created by two different authors, between whom there was no agreement on this check.
