As in its time weaving from beads, such a hobby as modeling figurines and jewelry from polymer clay has long ceased to be the occupation of adolescents and housewives, having turned into a fashionable leisure that even mature men do not disdain. So, clay sculptures American designer, artist, animator and sculptor David Kracov very highly valued both in the world of contemporary art and among collectors. His products, in particular, miniature images of cartoon characters of Walt Disney, are eagerly bought for their home collections by many Hollywood celebrities. As an animator, David Krackov has long worked with different types of clay, creating cartoon characters for Warner Brosers. He is the only sculptor who has an official license to make such items. At one time he received orders for a whole series of souvenir sculptures for thematic galleries, parks and shops, for the sake of which he worked in the workshop for eight months, creating and painting characters beloved by many. However, in addition to the world of Walt Disney, the artist creates other worlds from clay. They are just as positive and bright, but of a completely different character.
These other sculptures initially seem to be three-dimensional paintings. And this is not surprising, considering that David Crackov originally entered the world of art as an artist. So, at the age of 12, he was recognized as one of the most talented young artists, and this strengthened his faith in himself and the desire to achieve more in the creative field. The next step was working with polymer clay, and later it turned out that it was this step that became fateful for the young man. Multi-colored positive sculptures not only from polymer clay, but also from metal have become the hallmark of this master. His works are characterized not only by bright colors that charge with positive and good mood, but also expressive images that cause a smile and a desire to enjoy life.
By the way, David Krekov works with clay not only in practice, but also in theory: he became the author of several books about this art, including in Russian. More information about the work of the talented artist, sculptor and designer can be found on his website.
