The works of the Moscow photographer Sergei Kaltipkin are a strange mixture of reality and surrealism. Revealing with something of Bulgakov, they attract with their mystery, dissolved in apparent simplicity. And what is surprising (and very rare), even explicit eroticism does not make these photos vulgar, but, on the contrary, gives them a certain zest.
By the way, a series of works by the photographer was really made under the impression of "The Master and Margarita", but I personally saw this only after visiting the artist's website, which apparently speaks of Sergei's professionalism: his works can evoke the necessary associations and moods without abstruse three-volume annotations on the topic "Why is it actually removed."
Sergey has kindly posted on the website the most important, in his opinion, parts of his biography: “I was born in 1971 near Moscow. The first camera "Smena-8m" at the age of 12 was presented by my grandmother Galina Andreevna. Since then I have been living in photography.
After graduating from the school, he entered the photographic department of the Polytechnic named after V. I. Mossovet and with an interval on the army service he graduated in 1993 with a degree in "Professional photographer of the service of everyday life." At about the same time, I met and began to study with the famous wartime photographer Vsevolod Sergeevich Tarasevich, whose knowledge and experience I consider to be my basic.
In 1995, he began working as a photojournalist for the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, then for the Military Knowledge magazine. From 1997 to 2006 he worked as a special photojournalist for the Izvestia newspaper.
And of course, where without a trail of titles: on the photographer's website you can see a very decent list of more or less well-known publications that Sergei collaborated with (and this, in particular, LIFE and TIME). And recently, an article with the master's works was published in the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine. Sergey won photo contests: "Press Photo of Russia", "FACE CONTROL AWARDS", "SILVER KAMERA", "Stolychnaya history". The author's works are very popular, they can be purchased even via the Internet.

Some critics and researchers of Bulgakov's work believe that the novel "The Master and Margarita" is built on the ideas of foreign classics and philosophers. Upon a detailed study of the plot, one can indeed notice numerous allusions and references to Goethe and Hoffmann, observe the subtle intonations of Dumas, Dante and Meyrink.
