Today Linda she rarely appears in Russia, and although she still continues to engage in musical activities and releases discs, only the most devoted fans know about her work. And in the 1990s. she was one of the most popular singers. Her image, songs, and demeanor were so different from what the audience was used to seeing and hearing on the stage that she easily won thousands of fans. And at the peak of popularity, she suddenly disappeared somewhere. There were many rumors about the reasons for her mysterious disappearance.
Her real name is Svetlana Gaiman, later only her father continued to call her Sveta, and everyone else, according to her, had long been accustomed to the new name. She was born in Kazakhstan, from where her family soon moved to Togliatti, and then to Moscow. There she began to study in the folk ensemble of the Hermitage Theater, and later entered the Gnessin School in the vocal department. This fact had to be hidden from her father for some time - he was categorically against her vocals and wanted Svetlana to become a lawyer, like her older sister. Later, he resigned himself to the choice of his daughter and even took a financial part in her career.
In the early 1990s. she got the pseudonym Linda. As the singer explained, as a child, the family called her Labla, which in Hebrew means "sun", or simply Lina. And her pseudonym Linda is a derivative of these childhood nicknames. In 1995, while performing at the Generation competition in Jurmala, Yuri Aizenshpis drew attention to the young singer, and soon he became her producer. The collaboration was fruitful, she released the first songs "Non-stop" and "Playing with fire". However, the singer was not happy with the result - she did not do exactly the music that she wanted to sing. Max Fadeev was invited to arrange "Playing with Fire". Acquaintance with him and became a turning point in the creative destiny of the singer.
Fadeev became her composer and producer. It was during the time of cooperation with him that she achieved the greatest success. Album "Songs of Tibetan Lamas", released in 1994, brought Linda incredible popularity. The next album - "The Crow" - sold 1.5 million copies. But the third album "Placenta" unexpectedly turned out to be a commercial failure. In 1999, Linda tried her hand at writing lyrics for the song "White on White". In the period from 1994 to 1998. she has repeatedly earned the title of "Singer of the Year".
And suddenly, at the peak of her popularity, Linda suddenly disappeared. The audience was perplexed, there were various rumors - even that the singer had committed suicide. In 2003, she again reminded of herself with the song "Chains and Rings" - and again disappeared. The reasons became known after a few years. As it turned out, at the end of the 1990s. Max Fadeev moved to Germany, their relationship with Linda soured, and he did not want to continue working with her. She began working with other composers - Mara, Lyubasha, Evgeny Pozdnyakov. The singer released 5 more albums, but she did not succeed in regaining her former popularity, and the production work on promotion was stalled. There is a version that Fadeev stopped working with Linda due to the fact that her father stopped funding the project.
In 2005, in Greece, Linda met with producer Stefanos Korkolis and began working with him. They released 2 albums and formed the group "Bloody Faeries". And in 2012 g. Linda married Korkolis, but two years later their union fell apart. Since then, she has lived abroad, and in Russia she appears on visits. The singer plans to promote her new albums in Greece, England and Germany. Nevertheless, Linda continues to actively tour and gives concerts in Russia.
