Although her ancestors were not nobles, in Tatiana Piletskaya all his life there was what is called innate intelligence and aristocracy - from proud bearing to impeccable manners. She went a hard way to success and happiness: the main role in the film "Different Fates" brought popularity, but made it impossible to act in films, she was courted by Alexander Vertinsky and Grigory Kozintsev, she was married three times, but found her happiness only in her third marriage.

Tatiana Urlaub was born in 1928 in Leningrad. Before the revolution, the house in which their family occupied two small rooms belonged to her grandmother. And Tatyana's great-grandmother, Louise Grafemus, was called the second Nadezhda Durova, since she was an uhlan maiden: her husband fought in the army, and the woman decided to find him. She went to the front in male uniform, lost her arm during the battles. Her husband was killed, and after the war she married a second time, to the printer Kessenich, and moved to St. Petersburg. Louise was the hostess of the dance class and tavern "Red Zucchini", which was mentioned in their works by Tynyanov, Pushkin and Lermontov. Piletskaya considered it no coincidence that her first appearance on the professional stage took place in the wooden theater of the Izmailovsky Garden - in the very place where the dance class of her great-great-grandmother had previously been.

The famous artist Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, with whom her father was friends, became Tatyana's godfather. When the girl was 7 years old, she posed for a portrait known as Tatulya, or Girl with a Doll. On the advice of the godfather, the parents sent Tatyana to the Leningrad Choreographic School named after I. A. Vaganova, which she graduated in 1945. Tatyana's father, Ludwig Urlaub, was an ethnic German. In 1937 he was arrested but soon released. The second time he was taken in 1943 and expelled from Leningrad, like many Germans suspected of espionage. Father returned from exile only in 1956. At that time he already had another family. Tatiana's older brother died at the front at the age of 20. He dreamed that his sister would become a ballerina, but the war prevented serious ballet studies.

In the postwar years, Tatiana danced on the stage of the Musical Comedy Theater in the corps de ballet, but she was destined to become not a ballerina, but an actress. Her film debut took place thanks to the director Grigory Kozintsev, who was captivated by the bright beauty and outstanding talent of the young actress. Thanks to this, she got the role of Dasha Sevastopolskaya in the film "Pirogov". Alexander Vertinsky himself was a fan of Tatyana. At one of his concerts, their mother's friend introduced them, and since then the famous chansonnier has invited the girl to all his performances and to restaurants. Tatiana's real popularity was brought about by the role of a calculating and selfish fatal beauty in the film "Different Fates" (1956). After that, her name was recognized by thousands of viewers, and her photographs were sold in all kiosks of Soyuzpechat. However, fame also had a downside: the actress so believably played a vamp woman who rejects the love of a positive hero that not only viewers, but also directors began to associate her with her heroine. This role put an end to her film career, as no one wanted to shoot an actress with "evil eyes." In addition, Tatiana received bags of angry letters in which she was accused of being so cruel to the main character.
