American sculptor Douglas McAbee weirdo. Moreover, he writes in his biography that he was raised by wolves in a balloon, in deep space. He also creates unusual sculptures out of painted steel, reminiscent of aliens, or monsters from the cartoon "Monsters, Inc.", which, in their unpretentious simplicity, resemble children's plasticine crafts. But people still like it. Douglas McAbie began his creative career as a graphic designer and has worked in this field for over 15 years. But at some point, he realized that his vocation was still waiting for him somewhere else, and that there was less and less time for self-realization, and he found something to do for himself. So, at the moment, MacAby is a professor of arts at Lander University in the United States, and creates his unpretentious sculptural installations from steel, to his delight, and to people for fun.
The sculptures of Douglas MacAbie resemble, as already mentioned, alien creatures, although as for me, there are more similarities here with those Soviet playgrounds that were built in parks and squares in the distant 70s - 80s of the last century. You remember them, swings in the form of dogs, slides in the form of elephants, and other "attractions" created for children by unknown masters.
Although, if it's no joke, then the bright monochrome abstract forms invented by the author look quite curious, and even pleasant, if you do not look for a hidden meaning in them, but perceive them as another cute eccentricity of a strange creative person Douglas McAbee.
