The creativity of contemporary artists never ceases to amaze, delight, and sometimes simply knocks down the modern viewer with imagination and originality. Today an acquaintance with the amazing works of the artist Sergey Ivchenko, who combined in his creations the ancient technique of icon painting, the fantasy style, a certain echo of surrealism and his modern worldview.

The style of painting of Sergei Ivchenko is so filigree and colorful that it is almost impossible for an indifferent to pass by his works. The painter's paintings literally catch the eye and make them consider each image, every detail in detail, as well as think associatively, including fantasy and drawing parallels between the past and the present.

Almost all of the master's works are a semblance of medieval miniatures, with a creative idea, artistic concept and storyline, original compositional solution and author's techniques. But the decorativeness of the style and their fabulous content very much brings them closer to illustrations for literary works. Behind each picture there is a small story that can tell the viewer quite a lot.

The artist, inspired by the Middle Ages, through unique creativity created his own author's face, and having worked out techniques - and a handwriting that is difficult to confuse with anyone else. So, immersing the images of his characters in the atmosphere of the corresponding era, the author used attributes, and attire, and fanciful headdresses, and the same unimaginable musical instruments, and, without missing an opportunity to speculate, fantasize or present what is depicted through the worlds of his dreams.

It should be noted that many images created by Sergei Ivchenko carry musical overtones, and not only in terms of the plot, but also in terms of the color palette. Take a closer look - the rich colors and the exquisite compositional structure of the paintings have integrity and a beautiful harmonious sound.

Separately, I would like to say a few words about the background in the form of fantastic landscapes, various draperies, and ornamental texture of fabrics. The artist approached this element of his creations with particular scrupulousness. Moreover, he literally "aged" his paintings with a special technique, putting on them a layer of centuries-old time.

Cracks, craquelures serve as an additional link connecting the medieval era with modernity and look very impressive.

Musical subjects are the artist's favorite subject

For more than 15 years, Sergei Ivchenko worked in various art studios in the capital, and at the beginning of the 90s he left for permanent residence in Israel. The best of his works - the icon "Transfiguration" was presented to Pope John Paul II and is located in Rome. Of course, this fact became for the master the highest recognition of his talent. Working closely with the German Art Society, the painter, starting in the 2000s, began to frequently visit Germany and arrange expositions of his works in leading galleries. His monumental works from this period can be seen at the Beer Museum in Schwetzingen, Internet cafes in Mannheim, in the Office of the City Guard of Germany. Many of his works are also part of private collections of German collectors, and not only.

And, finally, I would like to note that the amazing paintings of Sergei Ivchenko are inherent in a certain mystery, expressed in pretentious antiquities, in original images, in a rich color scheme, which immerses the viewer in a fabulous atmosphere. The works of Sergei Ivchenko literally radiate a childishly pure soul - on the one hand, and mature wisdom - on the other, so they are interesting - both for an adult audience and for children.
