Looks like for the photographer and conservationist Bryant Austin aquarium fish really turned out to be boring, but ocean giants - just right. He presented a series of amazing pictures in the book Beautiful Whale, whose name speaks for itself.
We have repeatedly written about the world of underwater photography on the website Kulturologiya.ru. Brian Austin's work is notable, first of all, in that he creates unique composite life-size photographs of humpbacks, sperm whales and minke whales. Looking at these works, one gets the feeling that it is enough to reach out to touch these gigantic creatures.
Austin's fascination with whales began in 2004, when, during an underwater filming in the South Pacific, he suddenly saw a giant mammal a few meters away. The photographer was seized by the desire to capture the whale from such a small distance that the detail was maximized. He himself admits that there was absolutely no feeling of fear, an amazing confidence in the whale swimming by immediately arose.
To devote himself entirely to his beloved work, Austin had to quit his job and sell his house. The photographer devotes all his free time to "communicating" with sea giants, he admits that the plans are to create a life-size photograph of a blue whale (about 90 feet wide) in comparison with a photograph that will depict the same giant entangled in fishing tackle …
