Say what you like, but the world of art without paradoxes and blurred frames would be doomed. Throughout the history of art, artists have found more and more sophisticated ways to somehow amaze an ever more prepared viewer in a new way. Photographer Joshua Scott, winner of the 2010 APA / NY Awards, decided to take photographs of celebrities to crumple and photograph them, for which he won first place at the aforementioned award.

It would seem that it could be easier and stranger at the same time than to take and cut, or crush Marilyn Monroe's face, and then photograph the result. Apparently, strangeness and simplicity is the main criterion for the Food and Still Life Photo award, because this particular project, called Pop Faces, took first place, adding a few more pluses to the resume of the well-known photographer Joshua Scott. By the way, he won this prize for several years.

Many Western publications wrote about this project of Joshua. Judging by the articles in them, these strange photographs show how difficult it is for celebrities to control the image that is created in society, as soon as they become famous, and how quickly the reputation becomes disposable. Moreover, with the development of the Internet, we become more and more vulnerable to other people, who find it increasingly easier to distort our image in the eyes of the rest of the world. Yes, this can clearly be perceived as opposed to projects like portraits of celebrities in the pop art style - as super-complicated and super-simple, respectively.

On the website of the prize-winning photographer, there is almost no information about himself, while there are plenty of his works. Visit it and see that Joshua Scott is not only engaged in photography of crumpled photographs - the projects Pinatas and Lola are very beautiful.
