London photographer Ana Oliveira conceived an interesting photo project: she asked ordinary people to find their photographs - portraits or family photographs taken twenty, thirty and even, (as in one case), sixty years ago and … similar entourage. Many people liked this idea, people responded with joy. This is how the project "Personalities" ("Identidades") was born.
Alas, we cannot stay young forever: years pass, and we notice changes in our appearance. Only the photographs taken then, in the time of our youth, will forever remain a confirmation that we were once “young and carried wonderful nonsense.” Oliveira approached the creation of the project with all meticulousness: she picked up household items, set poses, followed the smallest details …
Connecting two photographs always has a very strong visual effect: the viewer can observe how people have stood the test of time. One of Ana's tasks was to show how beautiful and how, alas, fleeting youth is - the former girls in dresses and with mischievous curls turned into respectable old women, and the brave young men are now beloved by their grandchildren. The main thing, however, is that they have not aged internally, because, if you figure it out, people who have agreed to such an adventurous project must be very young at heart.
