Many representatives of modern art, creative people with the richest imagination and imagination use needles and threads not for sewing and embroidery. The standard "repair kit", without which no one can do either at home or on a hike, masters of art installations and authors of unusual, outlandish paintings are able to apply in such a way that the audience can only gasp with delight. We are already familiar with portraits made of threads and needles, which brought fame to the family duo L-able. Painter Martin Pyper from Amsterdam also knows how to turn a pile of needles and pins into a work of art. Martin Piper himself calls his paintings and installations experimental. And all his work as a whole can be called that way. The artist approaches his work playfully, with humor, and never knows in advance what will turn out this time, where his imagination will lead him and the material with which he is currently working. As you can see in the photographs, the author of experimental installations deals with nails, pins, needles, as well as threads of increased density and strength.

In terms of artists, nails and pins are for Martin Piper something like a pencil, with which he marks the outlines, sketches of the future work. And the threads are paints that give the image color and volume, and the work - completeness. However, in some of his installations, the author makes do with only "pencils", filling the entire plane of the picture with nails. And deliberately leaves the work unfinished and the phrase unsaid. Depending on the scale, the artist spends from two days to a week on one such work.

Apart from pins and needles, Martin Piper works with other non-standard materials for creativity. Installations of sugar lumps, playing cards and powdered sugar can be seen on the website of his art studio Mestudio.
