Some creative people look for inspiration in their feelings, some in alcohol and drugs, some get an epiphany in their dreams. It was in a dream that the concept appeared Laurentius Library … AND an angel prompted her! Anyway, so the legend says!
In a review of the world's most unusual libraries on the site Novate.ru you can see, indeed, the most amazing manifestations of creative imagination, dedicated to the storage of books and their meeting with readers. And, as it seems to us, the Laurentius Library could well take pride of place in this review. True, it was not a human fantasy that came up with it, but a divine one.
Of course, the Laurentius Library project has an author. This is the architect Anton Markus Pasing. But he just created the visual and technical justification for this unusual building. The concept itself, according to legend, did not appear without divine revelation.
And this legend says that in one small American city, located on the side of a large highway, there lived a poor priest. He lived, of course, lonely. And his best friends were books. In company with them, he whiled away his evenings. And for several decades he managed to collect a collection of 10 thousand volumes of fiction, scientific, popular science and theological literature.
There were so many books that this priest decided to create a library based on his collection. True, in the town where he lived, there was absolutely no suitable building for her, and his house, built in 1939, was too small for such an institution.
But once an angel appeared to this priest in a dream, who suggested the idea of creating a library on a round platform, very similar to a halo, which can be placed right above his house. It was with this idea that the priest turned to Anton Markus Pasing, who gave it a real look, created on its basis a completely feasible architectural project.
It is up to you to decide whether Pasing himself invented this legend, or whether the events described in it took place. But this decision does not mean that Laurentius Library, if built, will become one of the most amazing libraries in the world!
