The publisher of an American magazine decided to give Holland a holiday and organized a hemp festival in Amsterdam. On it, lovers of soft drugs demonstrated their talents in creating new varieties of drugs. This festival quickly gained popularity around the world.
The fact that the average person in the world is having fun and ruining his health is legalized marijuana in Amsterdam. It was to this city that Stephen Hudger, editor of the American edition of the High Times, was brought in in 1987. The journalist went on a business trip to interview the founder of the first Dutch Seedbank. However, Stephen returned to his homeland as a hero, in the eyes of the youth of Amsterdam. Indeed, in addition to resolving work issues, the American managed to organize a marijuana festival in the capital of Holland, called the Cannabis Cup, which became annual.
The festival takes place in the third week of November. The prizes are distributed in the following nominations: Best Coffee Shop, Best Hashish, Best Marijuana Grade, Best Bush, Best Hemp Processing Product. The look, smell, or taste of the product is often secondary. The main criterion for assessing is the effect. That is why not all of the two thousand judges can finish their work on time, but are forced to sit out ahead of time in a beautifully decorated room. Those members of the jury who have tasted too many products go there. The most experienced of them are able to try up to 10 types of soft drugs per day, while maintaining the ability to think and move.
The Soft Drugs Festival attracts tourists from all over the world. These are mainly representatives of the neo-hippie society. In addition to tasting soft drugs, concerts and various cannabis-themed events are organized for them.
