How do designers differ from their colleagues? And the fact that they can create an interesting project even from those things that surround us, from the most ordinary objects. For example, furniture.

It is this art form that Helmut Palla, a designer based in Vienna, is engaged in. The main theme of all the designer's creativity is furniture and its functionality. He has been collecting it for several years, brings it to his studio, where he is engaged in transforming it into something else. Often this is furniture again, as we see in the photographs, but sometimes the furniture turns into some other object. Sometimes these projects do not make sense and practical significance at all, but on some you can still sit, lie, relax. In these cases, the designer tries to open up a new side of furniture to us, to show that it can be used not only this way, but also differently.

Is a chair a chair if you can't sit on it? Is a chair a chair if its shape is very different from what we are used to? These and other questions come to mind when we examine objects created by a designer. After all, there is not only a sofa of chairs and a rocking chair like a rocking chair. There is also a wheel of chairs, on which you can neither sit nor lie down. There are also "mutants" - and it's not our whim to call them that word, the designer himself came up with such names for his creations. Perhaps someone will not be delighted with such work, since the furniture should remain furniture. But this is a new look at her, isn't it? And art in general.
