While most computer users no longer see the use of floppy disks in their daily lives and ruthlessly throw them into the trash cans, artist Diana Ritter argues that the possibilities of floppy disks are truly endless. Not as information carriers, of course. But as materials for creating works of art.

“I love to create something from floppy disks, because in this way I seem to bring something back to life that has already died, I seem to give it a“second life”,” says Diana Ritter. The idea to use these media as a material for creativity came to the author after one day she found a large box of floppy disks at home, which she completely forgot. Since Diana did not even consider throwing it into the trash, the idea to create something new from the contents of the box came by itself. So, according to the author, her "floppy art" was born.

Diana Ritter claims that you can create anything from floppy disks - it would be a fantasy. The artist herself makes exclusive abstract paintings, wall panels, photo frames and many other cute interior decorations out of them. “It's great to create unique works of art while helping the environment,” says Diana. At the same time, she ran out of her own floppy disks a long time ago, so the author appeals to all people who are not indifferent to her work with a request to send her their old media.

Diana Ritter says that all her life she has been fond of music and art. At the same time, she is an engineer by profession. “My work using old floppy disks is a reflection on the theme of paradoxes between my two worlds of art and technology,” says the artist.
