Boone! Bang! Fi! In the very name of this Indo-Chinese holiday, one can hear the roar of explosions and the shrill whistle of flying shells. This is as it should be: after all, at this festival, a young South Asian "tiger" - Thailand - Launches its arsenals of missile weapons into the air. And, by the way, very formidable: these days in May, Thai sparrows literally shake with fear, because an echo from explosion of missiles.
Turns out, rocket explosions fit not only to dictate their will to the provincial kingdoms of the third world. At least for a long time, Thais have long been convinced that missiles can be used rain … It is not surprising: after all, a rocket is, in essence, a stuffed dragon stuffed with gunpowder, and kind and wise Asian dragons have power over clouds and precipitation. So in mid-May, when the people of Thailand are tired of the dry season, they fill the shells and go out on the holiday trail - especially there are many who want to shoot at the sky in the city Yasothon, which is considered one of the main capitals of this interregional festival.
And now on the first morning Boon Bang Fai (May 11) missile-laden vehicles proudly take to the parade in Yasothon. Everyone is eager to boast of their Katyusha: Thais decorate rocket launchers with bells, flowers, flashlights, so that in the end they really look like golden dragons. On the first day, the rockets still do not fly: it is necessary to economize. So far, everyone is just dancing and having fun. But on the evening of the second day, people slowly move to the park, where the starts take place.
Powerful and weighty rockets (some weigh more than a centner!) Rush into the sky and fly straight to the clouds. Since missile explosions do not bring rain to Thais anyway (due to global warming), the emphasis has shifted to the sports component: who has a rocket flying higher and further. If the Greeks had taken it into their heads to shoot with such colossus on their Ruketopolemos, then only firebrands would have remained from their churches.
The Thais, however, are probably only threatening themselves: their shells are homemade, and rocket explosion doesn't always happen on time. But, although the occupation is risky, there is benefit from it: if the people are friends with the sky and launch vehicles into it, then this is not far from landing on the moon. The main thing is that there the ships do not explode in the sky.

How the rocket was invented 400 years before the flight into space, or Secrets of a medieval manuscript of a rocket science pioneer
Humanity still remembers the times when the flight to the moon was considered something from the realm of fantasy. Such dreamers were considered, at best, city madmen. At worst, they were burned at the stake. Today, spaceships not only actively "plow the expanses of our Universe", but also deliver cargo, astronauts and space tourists to Earth's orbit. Few people know that even 400 years before the first man flew into space, a multistage rocket had already been invented. Scientists have discovered the mysteries

The Ukrainian city of Donetsk is called the heart of Donbass and the city of a million roses. Coal is mined here and mines are blown up. The city is famous for giving Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych, football - the Shakhtar team and the Donbass Arena stadium. "Gunpowder" painting by Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang
Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang is known in the art world as the “master of artistic explosion”. He plays with fire in the truest sense of the word. What is considered to be violence is transformed into beauty and masterpiece in the workshop of Cai Guo-Qiang. One of the most famous and influential contemporary Chinese artists, Cai Guo-Qiang, paints his paintings with gunpowder. To tell you the truth, his work reminded me very much of the style of work of another lover of explosive materials - American Rosemary Fiore and about ser
