We have written about underwater photography more than once, but the peculiarity of this series of photographs, created by a 20-year-old girl-photographer Adeline Mai, is that the water in it does not look like water. Rather, they are people immersed in the ether, who appear before us in an extreme degree of purity and harmlessness.
Of course, there are many interesting series of underwater photos, many of which we had the pleasure to write about: from exquisite fashion photographs of Steve Landau to vivid images of the children's underwater country of Elena Calis, who, in fact, created a real paradise in her works. but underwater photography Adeline Mai is completely different from them, and at the first inattentive glance it seems that people are just hovering in a yellow haze above the ground.
Adeline Mai is a Frenchwoman with Asian roots, in her 20s already known for her several projects. So far, there are not many of them, but an excellent start has been made. But if the first cycle still resembles numerous similar works (although it is not inferior to them in the beauty of the concept), then the second part of the project is already something new, very unusual. But there is some kind of primordial purity and helplessness of man. Apparently, this is exactly the effect the young talented Frenchwoman wanted to achieve.
Not everything is clear with her biography. She studied at the Gobelins School of Art in Paris from 2008 to 2010, and all this time has already created photos and videos for various magazines. Apparently, Adeline Mai's work was noticed immediately, and she did not have to spend years looking for interesting work. She has few projects so far, and all of them can be viewed on her website.
