You can often hear statements about the lack of greenery in modern cities. But in some areas, everything is built up so densely that there is simply no room for green spaces. At the same time, there are no hopeless situations, and this is confirmed by the team of creative people who, with the help of a wonderful installation, turned the historic center of Lima into a real park.
The installation, entitled "Green Invasion", was designed by architects Genaro Alva, Denise Ampuero and Gloria Andrea Rojas, as well as industrial designer Claudia Ampuero Great. And in order to transform the concrete-asphalt area, it took not so much: old car tires and lawn grass.
The installation was created specifically for the competition, which became part of the "Gran Semana de Lima" - an event aimed at restoring the historic center of Lima. As a result, the project was among the winners, and it is assumed that at the end of the event, the installation will be moved to a neighboring area and left there so that everyone can take care of not only the plants, but also supplement the original park with their own plants. Undoubtedly, this innovative and eye-catching work will be a success with residents of the Peruvian capital and tourists.
The creators of the installation hope that residents of other cities will follow their example and revitalize their own streets and neighborhoods with similar green islands.
