“A dollar is worthless these days until you cut it into pieces,” says Mark Wagner, author of collages of money made entirely from the one-dollar bill, the most common in America. Artist, illustrator and graphic designer Mark Wagner was able to discern the deeply hidden beauty in the day to day one dollar bill. Using a special knife, he cuts and cuts paper bills, creating money collages.
The one dollar bill is the most ubiquitous and common thing in America. Collages ask the question: what can be done to make the dollar start to mean something else? Using a huge number of pieces of paper notes, Mark Wagner creates collages that fulfill the symbolic, social, cultural and political roles that money plays in the life of modern society.
A special knife and glue in the hands of the artist Mark Wagner transforms the icon of American capitalism into vivid paintings, beautiful tapestries, prints and mosaics, the symbolic power of which raises the question of understanding the purpose of money, its cultural significance and relationship to art.
One of the collages, a 16-foot reproduction of the Statue of Liberty, is made from 1,000 one-dollar bills.
Mark Wagner's work is featured in many museum collections in the United States and abroad, including the Walker Art Center, the New York Library, the Library of Congress, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Dream collages or collages-dreams of the artist Eleanor Wood (Eleanor Wood)
When we sleep, we always dream of something, or almost always. And our dreams are most often a reflection of our reality, or dreams. We are very worried about something or something very much, and this is always reflected in our dreams. And so the artist Eleanor Wood decided to fantasize what ordinary people, young and old, dream about in their dreams and presented the audience with a series of "dreamy" collages
One million coffee beans. One World, One Family, One Coffee: another mosaic of Saimir Strati
This Albanian maestro, multiple "record holder" for mosaics, Saimir Strati, has already been met by the readers of Culturology.Ru on the pages of the site. It was he who created a painting of 300,000 screws and a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci from nails, and also laid out images from corks and toothpicks. And the new mosaic, on which the author is working today, probably cost him more than one hundred cups of strong aromatic coffee, since he lays it out from a million coffee beans
