Portraits of womenwritten by an American Jennifer Healy, at first glance, attract the attention of the audience. The artist paints in the fantasy style, endowing her heroines with exceptional beauty and sophistication. Detailed illustrations made with colored pencils have a special charm.
Many female artists turn to the creation of female portraits; we have already told the regular readers of the site Culturology. RF about the work of many of them. Anna Bosek and Beck Winnell, Anna Dittmann and Laura Wesson … Jennifer Healy's works occupy a worthy place in this series.
Smooth lines, pastel colors, tenderness and spirituality - all this distinguishes the paintings by Jennifer Healy. To breathe life into these idealized images, the artist resorts to a special technique: despite their angelic appearance, these young ladies have a piercing and even slightly demonic gaze. The illustrator herself explains that in her work she tries to mix good and evil, since in real life there is nothing absolutely good or bad. One is unthinkable without the other, and this confrontation will continue forever.
Jennifer Healy, originally from Louisiana, has had a passion for drawing since childhood, but she only got carried away with colored pencils a year ago. Coming to the next portrait, she first draws a sketch, which then “fills” with different shades of colors. Most often, the artist paints portraits of girls surrounded by flowers and herbs, insects or animals. Jennifer Healy explains it simply: "Women are beautiful, and so is nature." Each drawing by a talented illustrator is very emotional, so Jennifer Healy's work has many fans.
