Pencil drawings are common and common. Any person made them from early childhood, when he still could not read or write. But here is an artist well known to us Kyle Bean came up with a truly new way to draw with a pencil - for this he does not use a lead, but the pencil itself.
The artist Kyle Bean is well known to the regular readers of our site. We have written about his work many times. For example, about insects made by him from matches, about his solution to the eternal dispute about an egg and a chicken, as well as about delicious paper crafts of his authorship. In general, as you can see, Kyle's freshness of thought and talent cannot be denied.
Here is a new series of his works, called "Pencil Shaving Portraits", this is something completely original, which no one has thought of before. After all, Kyle Bean does these pencil drawings not with a lead, so that it would be logical and understandable, but with the help of the pencils themselves.
Or rather, with the help of pencil shavings. Kyle Bean takes colored pencils, runs them into a sharpener and gets the material from which he then creates his unusual, original work.
Best of all, pencil shavings, as Bean realized, and as the artist Erika Iris Simmons understood before him, who creates pictures using film from old audio cassettes, portraits of people are obtained. So Kyle created images of four people - editors with whom he collaborates in his work, as if in gratitude for many years of fruitful joint work.
