The influence of life on art, as well as the influence of art on life, are indisputable facts that exist in close interconnection. And, at times, this interaction takes on very interesting and unusual forms. An example of this is the release of a limited anniversary batch Campbell soup, the appearance of the cans of which is based on the work of the patriarch of pop art Andy Warhol, namely, on a series of his paintings "32 Campbell's soup cans" ("32 Campbell Soup Cans").
Andy Warhol's series of cans of cheap Campbell soup are some of the world's most famous pop art pieces, each costing hundreds of thousands of dollars (compare that to 75 cents for a can of food inside!) And many modern the authors use these works as inspiration for their own creativity (remember at least a creative photo session from Andy Alcala).
And recently the Campbell company itself announced the start of the production of soup cans, the appearance of which is based on the work of Andy Warhol, and on which this great American-Ukrainian author himself will be drawn.
This "artistic" Campbell soup by Andy Warhol will be released in a limited edition (one-time production of several hundred thousand cans) and will be on sale in American supermarkets on September 2 this year. This event will be timed to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the appearance of the series of paintings "32 Campbell's soup cans".
True, unlike real paintings by Andy Warhol, which are sold at auctions for tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, these Campbell soup cans will cost the same 75 cents to which consumers of this product are accustomed for many years of its production.
