Rarely does a stranger visit the largest landfill in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. But then thousands and thousands of people around the world can see rubbish from this dump. And this is the merit of the artist Vik Munizwho uses this waste in his works from the series "WASTE LAND".

The sketches of these garbage paintings were originally made from peanut butter, coffee, tea and other similar materials found by Munis in a landfill, and then "weighted" with other, voluminous garbage. Sizes of paintings from the WASTE LAND series vary from small sizes (such works are quite possible hang in art galleries) to the huge building that occupies entire floors, which houses the art studio of Vic Munis.
