American artist Erin Vaganos cannot boast of fame and popularity, but this does not mean at all that her work is boring, empty and uninteresting. Blue squirrels, golden pears, ships in their hair and a pink sky instead of sea waves are a direct confirmation of this. Born and raised in the outback of Northern Pennsylvania, Erin learned to draw by copying Dad's old blueprints for cars and motorcycles, sitting at Grandma's desk and drawing piles of Mom’s printer paper - the one from which you had to tear off the perforated edge. Then there was an art school and again a lot, a lot of practice, until the girl realized that painting is her second self, not just a hobby, but a vocation.

Last year, Erin Vaganos finished illustrating the children's book The Frog Prince, by Brandi Chase, and recently completed illustrating a second book for children, The Ant and the Chrysalis, by Myrna Estes. The artist claims that her creative style and manner were most influenced by artists of the "Golden Age" such as Kay Nielsen, Arthur Rackham and Harry Clarke. This is probably why Erin Vaganos is known as Goldenquince in the creative world.
