Canadian actor Emil Geinst once remarked skeptically: "A tourist travels a thousand miles to be photographed in front of his car." Of course, it also happens, but those travelers who happened to see Hamilton pool in Texas, there are much more reasons to take up the camera. Such picturesque landscapes cannot leave anyone indifferent.
The Hamilton Pool is one of the unique natural attractions. It was formed millennia ago, when the dome of one of the karst caves collapsed due to erosion. This is evidenced by limestone slabs that can be seen at the edge of azure water, as well as huge stalactites "hanging" from the ceiling.
The highlight of the Hamilton Pool is a picturesque 15-meter waterfall. The water level here is different throughout the year, however, the waterfall never completely dries up. The water level in the pool is also stable even during drought, so you can enjoy the beauty of this place regardless of weather conditions.
The name of the pool is associated with the name of the governor of Texas, Andrew Hamilton, who bought the site in 1860. Later he sold it to a family of German emigrants, who discovered the natural phenomenon. The Hamilton pool immediately became the property of the public, tourists began to come here en masse on vacation, because it is difficult to imagine a more picturesque place for a picnic.
In 1985, the Texas authorities came to their senses and bought the Hamilton Basin in order to establish a conservation area here. Today, it is forbidden to make fires, fish or walk dogs in the Hamilton Reserve, all of which undoubtedly harm the unique ecosystem. Nature still generously thanks people for their care, perennial juniper forests and oak forests are still preserved in the highlands, you can see a variety of herbs and flowers, including rare species of jasmine and orchids.

Pool-non-pool. Fake Swimming Pool art project by Leandro Erlich
Look into the pool and see people in it walking freely along the bottom, laughing, talking, breathing, jumping and even dancing - something from the realm of fantasy.
