Educated people were valued in all cultures and at any time in history, except, of course, the most terrible totalitarian regimes such as the Khmer Rouge in Kampuchea. Here's to show real strength booksas well as bring literature to the most disadvantaged in Argentina, artist activist Raul Lemesoff created installation with the title Arma De Instruccion Masiva (Weapons of Mass Training) … In recent years, books have ceased to fulfill exclusively their original function, namely, to bring knowledge and art to people. They themselves have become part of art, moreover, visual. Take, for example, the tower from the books about Abraham Lincoln, the Idiom installation in the Prague Library or the book house in the Lisbon Center for Contemporary Culture.
So the Argentine artist Raul Lemesoff created an unusual installation from books. Moreover, this design has wheels and a motor, thanks to which it can drive through the streets, bringing enlightenment to people. After all, Arma De Instruccion Masiva is a library on wheels, stylized as a tank and created on the basis of a 1979 Ford Falcon car (these were the vehicles that army patrols drove during the military junta's rule in Argentina).
But only this car moves the real universal human power - knowledge. On the shelves of this mobile library there are 900 books, which Raul Lemesoff delivers free of charge to the poor areas of Argentine cities and poor villages, where not all children even have the opportunity to go to school, let alone higher education!
In return for the donated books, new ones appear every day at the installations of Arma De Instruccion Masiva - the project is supported by private donations of money and printed materials.
Moreover, Raul Lemesoff plans to expand the geography of Arma De Instruccion Masiva to Peru and Bolivia, because not only in Argentina there are problems with the acquisition of knowledge by the poorest segments of the population and residents of remote towns and villages.
