One of the works of Alexander Makhov is called "the territory of the soul" and, perhaps, this is the most appropriate epithet for the entire work of the artist. Delicate, imbued with contemplation - his works are as if copied from the thinnest plate of human feelings and memories.
The artist was born in Moscow in 1944. He is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Federation of Artists. His works can be found in the Museum of Russian Art, Montgeron (France), the KRISTEL Gallery (Finland), the Museum of Contemporary Art of Russia, New York (USA), as well as in private collections in Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Russia, USA and France. The artist also hosts international exhibitions. The author himself counts among the followers of avant-garde.
The artist admits that the plots of the paintings spontaneously appear in his head “a new image opens up before the inner gaze. Moreover, this can happen anywhere and anytime: at night in a dream, during the day on the subway, sometimes images pour out of a cornucopia, and the artist barely has time to translate them into real paintings, and sometimes not a single idea is visited for a long time - and then the brushes do not touch the canvas.
An interview with the artist was published in one of the art magazines, where he talks about his talent as follows: “After the picture appeared in my head,” says the artist, “the hand itself runs on the canvas, how do I manage to draw stars, I and I don't really know myself. " Who is leading your hand, Alexander? How did the brush first come into your hands? It turns out that none of the parents, grandfathers and great-grandfathers even came close to the canvas. And Alexander began to paint "all of a sudden" - from about three years old. And he paints to this day - now he is over sixty.
“It also happens that the basis for a future picture is not an image, but a poetic line, a literary excerpt, a biblical plot, an expression of an ancient Indian philosopher …” Of course, everyone has different tastes and some of the artist's works may not impress, but deny their artistic value definitely not worth it.
Unfortunately, Alexander Makhov does not have a website, but there are many works of the artist on the Internet.
