Red and white, fluffy and not very, mustachioed and tailed, the heroes of this article touchingly look at you with their huge eyes. They make you smile and you can't help but like them. Before you artist Boris Kasyanov and his cats.
Boris Kasyanov is a freelance artist based in Novosibirsk. The theme of cats is not the only one in the author's work, but, perhaps, the mustache-striped series is the kindest, warmest and most touching. If you see at least one picture of a furry meowing creature, then you will definitely want to see all the others.
The artist's website contains 115 of his paintings, which depict 235 cats, kittens and cats. And all of them, of course, are different, with their own characters and their own mood. The paintings are divided into series: "Portrait", "Family and Children", "Leisure and Rest", "Cat in a Landscape" and "Miscellaneous". Moreover, each picture has its own name, in which there is often a share of humor: for example, "Bathing a Red Cat", "Murzik Cat Flickering in the Dark" or "Little Cloud".
Why cats and where did this idea come from? Boris Kasyanov evasively replies that they have always been. Created one after another, paintings on a cat theme gradually became an independent genre in the artist's work.
All of Boris's paintings, of course, were originally created on canvas. However, after a while, they all dispersed around the world, settling in the collections of art connoisseurs. Based on the remaining sketches, a series of drawings on paper was created, which was then released in a small edition (5-10 copies) in the form of postcards, which can be ordered on the artist's website. "True stories of Real Cats, Cats and Kittens" - this is how Boris Kasyanov calls his works.
Boris, like many talented authors, has no special art education. And he also admits that he does not understand the meaning of the word "inspiration" - in relation to his work, of course. He strokes his cat, Quinny, drinks strong tea, listens to rock and roll - and just creates.
