Usually people arrange holidays only for themselves, and the rest of the living world can be content with scraps. But not at the Eagle Festival in North Texas: from what is happening there, its main participants - large birds of prey - get much more pleasure than people. What is actually going on there? You will find out now.
Despite the fact that feathered predators are cruel, formidable, untidy and distinguished by a violent disposition, people still like them: it is so nice to see the grace of these conquerors of heaven, their strength and speed, their pride and beauty. No wonder the eagles have become real symbols of freedom. But, despite this, there were always poachers who considered it a duty and a useful thing to hunt birds of prey.
Thus, even the bald eagle, the symbol of America, was under threat. What can we say about less titled owls, hawks and eagles! However, bird lovers sounded the alarm in time, urging to take the birds of prey under protection. One of the manifestations of this protection and care is the Eagle Festival in Texas, held annually (usually in February; information about the time of this year has not yet been received).
People come to this event to see and photograph rare birds. Those who have suffered from poachers, have been poisoned, injured or orphaned too early are brought here. Breeders also come to the festival with their pet pets. Specialists and volunteers from the environmental organization Last Chance Forever we are happy to tell tourists about their favorite birds, their habits and the benefits they bring to the green planet. And at the end of the event, wild birds, which were picked up and left by naturalists, are solemnly released into the wild, into the blue sky.
The number of bald eagles has gradually recovered, and there is almost no need to protect this species. Large owls, many eagles, hawks are still under threat. The struggle to conserve birds so beautiful and so important to ecosystems continues, and conservationists are making progress - including through events such as the Texas Eagle Festival. A place where freedom is given to birds.
