Dresses created by designer Annette Meyer evoke sighs of delight and regret among fashionistas. Delight - because these outfits are gorgeous and flawless. Regret - because none of these dresses can be seen, because they are made of paper!
The “ICON Dressed” series is a poetic recreation of iconic examples of women's fashion from the past two hundred years. Fourteen outfits reflecting the style of a particular era are made of paper with prints depicting the classic Danish porcelain painting of the 17th century.
All dresses have their own unique cut and show the audience the fashion trends from 1800 to our day: from fluffy French dresses to A-lines of the sixties, from romantic German evening dresses to ultra-short mini-skirts.
Annette says that inspiration comes to her at the meeting place of the consumer society and the human body, the link between which is the world of fashion and design.
Annette Mayer is a designer from Denmark. She creates outfits from paper using wrapping materials from all over the world. Annette makes traditional bridal gowns and fashion suits for advertising agencies who hope to draw attention to their clients through the use of unusual materials. The designer's works are popular all over the world and have been presented at exhibitions in the Netherlands, Japan, USA, Sweden, South Korea, Greece and other countries.
