At first glance at Elisa Strozyk's work, it is not easy to identify the material from which they are made. Someone will think that these are rugs or blankets with an original pattern. Someone will think that these are fragments of wooden parquet. But in the end, both of them will be right, because in the author's wooden textiles, wood and fabric are combined in one work.

A student of London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design completed this project as a thesis for a master's degree. The main material was scraps of plywood from a woodworking workshop located next to the girl's educational institution. Elisa cut many small plywood triangles with a laser and then laid them on top of the fabric and attached to it.

The project, called "Wooden Textile" and representing an original fusion between parquet and carpet, makes a stunning impression. It makes you look at a material like wood from a new angle. Geometric pieces of wood ultimately form a flexible surface that can take many different shapes. Soft and hard at the same time, Elisa Strozyk's pieces blur the lines between furniture and textiles. According to many experts, the author's works open up new opportunities in the field of textile design and have a great future.
