Sculptures Jonathan Baldock (Jonathan Baldock), which combine many traditional home craft techniques, often seem unattractive and even ominous to viewers. And the author himself claims that in this way he expresses his interest in grotesque and theatricality, which literally permeates the life of each of us.

The author calls his work reflections on the history of modern art, commedia dell'arte, grotesque, theater and pop culture. According to him, he seeks to tie these different directions together by creating "a highly aesthetic environment with tension between opposing forces such as stylistically conflicting aesthetics, colors or themes."

The author's most recent works are human busts made from salt dough and decorated with hand-made embroidery, knitting and traditional oil painting. According to Jonathan, the creation of these works was inspired by the idea of the classical form of man in art history and contemporary culture, and in this regard, the idea of a “perfect body”. Here is how the author comments on his activities: “I am interested in the anthropological importance of the object, as well as the creative processes - mainly those related to decoration. My goal is to transform everyday materials into something new, while addressing the questions of the definition of existence: What is it? Why does it look like this? Where did it come from? Why does it look like this?"
