The main attribute of a modern city is a car. Everything in the metropolis obeys him - roads, junctions, parking lots and other infrastructure. And all these automobile objects crowd out what people need, not the car - wide sidewalks, flower beds, parks. But a group of enthusiasts annually holds PARK (ing) Day in many cities around the world, during which they try to prove that the main thing in the word parking is the park!
At PARK (ing) Day, people from different cities agree in advance with each other about what time and in what place they are organizing an action. And at this time they occupy a parking space on the side of the road and equip a real park there.
They bring there plants in tubs, benches, chairs, attributes and other attributes for rest. They can arrange a barbecue there for the protesters, play chess, read newspapers, or just lie on the artificial turf. In general, during PARK (ing) Day, people do whatever they do in a regular park. But this park occupies an area of only a few square meters.
The purpose of the action is to remind the authorities and townspeople that the city is a place where, first of all, people live, not cars. And so you have to pay attention to their needs. This year's PARK (ing) Day will take place around the world on Friday 17 September.
