After in the 1970s. The works of Anatoly Rybakov "Dagger" and "Bronze Bird" were filmed, Soviet schoolchildren had new film heroes, and films became cult - more than one generation of viewers grew up on them. Unfortunately, none of the charismatic young heroes continued their acting career in the future, and the fate of some of them was tragic - strange, but in the future, several heroes of children's films died prematurely.
Volodya Dichkovsky, who played the role of Genka Petrov, got to the shooting by accident. Once an assistant director came to their school, looking for characters for a new children's film, and photographed all the children from his class. Dichkovsky lived the life of an ordinary teenager and did not dream of an acting future, but one day, after returning from a walk in the forest, where he and his friends were collecting birch sap, he learned that he had been approved for the role in the film "Dirk". He still remembers what he spent his first fee on - he bought a moped. A year later, Dichkovsky again appeared on the screens in the role of Genka Petrov in the film "Bronze Bird", in the same year he played in an episode of the film "Adventures in a city that does not exist", after another 3 years he starred in the film "Black Birch". However, this was the end of his film career.
The filming process fascinated him very much, and after school Dichkovsky tried to enter the theater school, but did not pass the competition. He was taken into the army, during his service he learned to drive a car and after demobilization became a driver. Today, 58-year-old Vladimir Dichkovsky lives in Minsk and works as a driver-freight forwarder in a private company. When asked whether he is satisfied with the way his fate has developed, he answers: "".
Igor Shulzhenko got the role of the intelligent boy Slavik, with whom he had a lot in common - he himself was a diligent student. He got to the shooting also due to chance, which he later told about: "".
He never graduated from any of the institutes and mastered the profession of a tiler, which he did later all his life. He explained his choice as follows: "". In February 2009, 51-year-old Igor Shulzhenko died.
The role of the homeless child Mishka Korovin was played by Alexander Primako, who at that time already had experience in filming in films - 3 years before that he had played one of the main roles in the film Five of the Brave. However, after "Kortik" there was only one work that became the last - "Bronze Bird". Very little is known about the further fate of the actor: he graduated from the Belarusian Theater and Art Institute, and in 1988 he died under unclear circumstances - one night Alexander did not return home, and in the morning his body with numerous injuries was found on the railway track. The police never found those responsible for his death.
Andrei Voinovsky played the role of Borka-Zhily in the film. He also had experience in filming - his film debut took place in 1969 in the film "Merry Magic". He got into the cinema thanks to a happy accident - he helped the illuminator from Mosfilm to carry the wires. And he stayed at the film studio for 20 years, starring in the 1970s-1980s. in 13 films. Director Ilya Fraz spoke about him like this: "".
After graduating from the acting department of GITIS, Voinovsky, in parallel with his work in the cinema, took up literary activity and published several novels ("The Doctor. Oligarchic Tale", "The Doctor-2. Oligarchic Tale. The Tragedy of the Absurd", etc.). And in August 2015, his life was tragically cut short - while on vacation in Crimea, he had a quarrel with his friends, and one of them killed three people, including Voinovsky.
Anatoly Dashkevich starred in only two films - "Dagger" and "Bronze Bird", where he played the role of Vova Baranov, Byashka. All that is known about him is that after school he graduated from the Minsk State Automotive Technical School and since 1997 worked for the Coca-Cola company.
Svetlana Potapchik, who played the role of Lelia Podvolotskaya in "Dirk", did not become an actress either. After that, she received offers from directors more than once, but her parents were against her daughter acting in films. She graduated from medical school and became a doctor. Today Svetlana lives in Moscow and has two daughters.
The actor Sergei Shevkunenko, who played the main roles in the films "Dagger" and "Bronze Bird", also passed away prematurely. His fate was tragic: From the film idol of all pioneers to crime boss.

Disputes about these works of director Alexei Balabanov continue to this day.
