If the favorite cartoon of our childhood was created now, then in the commercials it would be possible to say in a dramatic voice: “From the creators of CHEBURASHKA” - director Roman Kachanov at that time already had many famous works in his creative track record. But for Kir Bulychev, this first adaptation of his book became the reason for an important change in his life and work.
The fact is that the writer, already famous throughout the country, for many years created fantastic stories under a pseudonym (he composed it from the name of his wife Kira and the surname of his mother - Maria Mikhailovna Bulycheva). He carefully concealed his real identity, but in 1982 a creative group of directors, animators and screenwriters was awarded the USSR State Prize for the creation of the film "Through Thorns to the Stars" and the cartoon "The Mystery of the Third Planet". When presenting the high award, Kir Bulychev had to part with incognito. It turned out that the famous historian and orientalist, Doctor of Historical Sciences Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko worked under this name. He kept his fascination with science fiction in strict secrecy from the management of the Institute of Oriental Studies, as he was afraid of dismissal for such a "frivolous" occupation. The writer's fear was not justified, and later his fame as a science fiction author far surpassed his scientific achievements.
This joke has spread all over the Internet, but few people know that it has a very real justification. Animation artist Natalya Orlova, who created these characters, admitted in an interview that Alice has a lot in common with her daughter:
The artist's subconscious mind simultaneously played another joke on her - Captain Zeleny, in the opinion of many acquaintances, turned out to be very similar to her husband, director Tengiz Semyonov. Such creative genetics! By the way, Alice got her name in honor of the daughter of Kir Bulychev. So two real girls at once became prototypes for her.
The cartoon was voiced by real Soviet stars: Vsevolod Larionov (Professor Seleznev, bird Govorun), Vasily Livanov (Gromozeka), Vladimir Kenigson (robots), Rina Zelenaya (Colina's grandmother). With numerous translations of "The Mystery of the Third Planet" into other languages, this "star team" was replenished with foreign colleagues: Alice in America was voiced by Kirsten Dunst, and Talker - by James Belushi, Professor Seleznev speaks in French in the voice of Jean Reno, and Gromozek in Italian - Adriano Celentano. In addition, in different countries, Robbie Williams, Hugh Grant, Hugh Laurie and Toto Cutugno gave voices to the cartoon characters.
Soviet authors have created many cartoons that are still considered unsurpassed masterpieces. "Hedgehog in the Fog", for example, is recognized as the best animated film of all time.

How the cartoon "Once upon a time there was a dog" appeared: Why I had to change the name, and make the Wolf look like Dzhigarkhanyan
35 years ago, at the International Film Festival in Denmark, the first place was taken by the Soviet cartoon "Once upon a time there was a dog", created a year before. And in 2012, at the Suzdal Animated Film Festival, this cartoon was recognized as the best over the past 100 years. More than one generation of children has grown up on it, and the phrases of the Dog and the Wolf have long become winged. Many interesting moments remained behind the scenes: the audience is unlikely to know that in the first version of the cartoon the wolf looked completely different, and the censorship did not miss the title

The Japanese released a new 3D cartoon about Cheburashka and Gena: Soviet cartoon heroes gnaw bamboo and change clothes
The reincarnation of Cheburashka and Gena the Crocodile, so beloved by Soviet children and already a little forgotten in our time, took place. And it happened again in Japan. Recall that 17 years ago, the Japanese company SP International bought the rights to the cult Soviet cartoon from our Soyuzmultfilm until 2023. And it was in the country of samurai, and not in our country, that the continuation of the story about the beloved Soviet cartoon heroes came out 10 years ago.
