Lake Kaindy is one of the wonders of nature that amazes travelers with the fact that it resembles a giant cemetery of ghost ships. Majestic fir trees, flooded with emerald water, rise above the surface of the lake.
Кaindy is located 129 km from the city of Almaty in the Kazakh part of the Tien Shan mountain range. The origin of the lake is very unusual: it appeared after the earthquake in 1911, when a strong landslide blocked the gorge and formed a natural dam. Subsequently, rainwater filled the entire valley, forming a lake. Its dimensions are truly amazing - the length of the reservoir is 400 m!
The emerald water of the lake is striking in its transparency, because the temperature in the foothills, even in summer, does not exceed 6 degrees. Here everything breathes with antiquity and mysticism, the age of some pines is more than a hundred years old. In winter, the surface of the lake freezes over, and during the colder months, Lake Kaindy attracts tourists looking to fish for trout or those looking to swim in the icy water!

What secrets are kept in the flooded ancient city of Shichen in China
In the Chinese province of Zhejiang, about one hundred and fifty kilometers from Hangzhou, there is the beautiful Qiandaohu Lake or Thousand Island Lake. This stunning beauty is by no means a work of the Creator, but the work of human hands. Only six decades ago, the valley was flooded in order to build a hydroelectric power plant. As a result, a little more than a thousand islets were formed, from which the lake got its romantic name. But the most interesting thing about this beautiful place is not what it finds
The bells ringing of a flooded church in the Italian village of Graun
The flooded church in the Italian village of Graun, located near the Austrian border, is an amazing attraction. The church was built in the 14th century, but in the 20th century the construction of a hydroelectric power station began in the village. Reshen's artificial zero flooded 163 homes and 1,290 acres of farmland, but the church survived. Since then, the spire of the bell tower has risen above the water, and, according to legends, during a strong wind, you can even hear the bell ringing here
