Recently, Great Britain has occupied the top lines in the ranking of world news, due to the fact that in London just the other day it started Olympic Games 2012 … And this applies not only to sports news, but also to culture. So, in the official store of the Olympic Games, which is John Lewis Statford, a miniature replica of the huge Olympic stadium in London is on display, both to attract buyers and to decorate the large hall of the shopping center. Sculptural copy LEGO Olympic Stadium consists of neither more nor less than 100,000 elements of the designer, and four craftsmen worked on the creation of the miniature for two months. And despite the fact that the copy of the Roman Colosseum, built with 200,000 Lego bricks, still holds the palm among the largest Lego sculptures, the size, scope and detail of the Olympic stadium are also impressive.
So, the unnamed authors of the project built an exact copy of the stadium from Lego, without forgetting the slightest detail. Walking around the huge building, as for a miniature, you can see crowds of fans and athletes, coaches and staff, ubiquitous photographers and tourists scurrying around. The sculptors "planted" alleys and parks made of constructor sets on the territory of the stadium, installed ticket offices and trailers with delicacies, souvenir tents and fan stalls. Moreover, for all this, the craftsmen used only those construction sets that are sold in stores and are freely available; they did not need any special details for the construction of the stadium.
And now, both on weekdays and especially on weekends, next to the copy of the Olympic stadium in the shopping center of London, a crowd of people who want to be photographed against the background of an amazing sculpture and take a closer look at how it works. Well, for those who will not be able to see either a real or a miniature stadium with their own eyes, we suggest watching the following video about how the impressive sculpture of LEGO Olympic Stadium was created:
