Oh, Odessa, a pearl by the sea … This is the only way and no other name for this seaside city by the Ukrainians. They love Odessa for its festive atmosphere, unique local flavor, sharp humor and, of course, wonderful architecture. This city is a real open-air museum, along the streets of which you can wander endlessly. Monuments of architecture inspired artist Dasha Pliska to create a series of amazing drawings in which houses are combined with human hands.
A series of paintings titled "Architecture of Odessa" - an unusual project, since light notes of surrealism are mixed with realistic images - hands that came from nowhere. The combination, it would seem, is absurd, but the palms so harmoniously complement the "stone body" that sometimes it seems as if it is a single organism.
In each painting, the hands perform different "functions": on one they embrace the building, on the other they press them to themselves or playfully intertwine their fingers around the front door, on the third palm they are completely folded, as if propping up the chin-house … Each work of a young woman from Odessa, Dasha Pliska, executed laconically, precisely and refined, filled with love for the hometown. And how can you, looking at these talented images, not remember the words of Joseph Brodsky: “You are the only one, architecture, darling, bride, pearl of space, whose lip is not stupid, as Tasso sang, showing immense courage that we cannot comprehend, you justify the area, address, pockmarked brick."
Each painting by Dasha Pliska "reads" the idea of protecting architectural monuments, however, there is something else in them that intrigues the viewer at first sight. What exactly is up to you.

Recently, however, Russian scientists have discovered no less impressive figures in our country, in Primorye. The giant drawings located near the village of Terikhovka are visible only from the air. And they found them by accident - during the construction of the Vladivostok-Ussur highway
Mysterious forests and other mysterious places by Eyvind Earle
The paintings of this artist are simply striking in their uniqueness. It seems that this was not without Photoshop, but in those days when this artist created his best work, even computers were weak. It's just his own technique, Eyvind Earle, arguably the most interesting artist to have worked on Disney cartoons since the 50s
Architectural hyperbolism: monuments of enormous size in Australia
If Gulliver traveled to real countries of the world, one would assume that Australia is the heir to the country of giants Brobdingnag. Amazingly, there are so many monuments of enormous size scattered all over the island that it seems as if they are the legacy of the civilization of giants. The 11-meter miracle banana was the first to appear on the mainland in 1964. Since then, many giant sights have been built throughout the country, today there are 150 of them
