These bright exotic paintings seem to glow from the inside, warming and illuminating everything around. Drenched in the hot golden sun, they tell stories about graceful cats and beautiful women with the profile of Queen Nefertiti, about flexible, plastic dancers and their captivating dances, about love, passion and passionate love for the ancient culture of the Egyptian people. And behind all this - a Russian artist with an oriental name Galla Abdel Fattah (Fattah Hallah Abdel) … Egyptian by birth, Galla Fattah was born and raised in Russia. Her parents, a ballerina and a cameraman, saw their future here, in the great and strong (at that time) Soviet Union, and therefore decided to settle in Moscow. Here, in the capital, their two daughters, Galla and Hebe, were born, who followed in the footsteps of their parents, devoting their lives to art. Today Geba Fattah is a ballerina at the Bolshoi Theater, and Galla paints amazing paintings that are a mixture of Russian and Egyptian cultures, temperaments and characters.
The artist says that she dreamed of dancing in ballet, like her mother, but she was much better at drawing. Therefore, today dances, in particular, the ballet performances of her younger sister, are only a source of inspiration for her. Which explains the extensive series of paintings dedicated to ballet and dancers. By the way, not only dance works, but also the images of many women in Galla Fattah's paintings are "sketched" from Geba. According to the artist, the sister has an amazing profile of the proud Queen Nefertiti, and she herself dances half-Egyptian - half-modern dances in oriental costumes, which makes her reminiscent of Nefertiti of our times. Plasticity, flexibility, gracefulness of ballerinas inspire her no less than love for the sunny homeland and its ancient culture.
By the way, Galla Fattah came to the ancient Egyptian theme relatively recently. She did not want to simply reproduce ancient frescoes - they seemed to her inanimate, too static, but she wanted something modern, lively, dynamic. But she liked the color and shape, so the artist began to look for her own mixed style, which would allow painting in the "old" style, retaining its decorativeness, but fundamentally "in a new way", adding notes of the modern European style. These paintings are popular not only in the former USSR, but also in Europe, as well as in the homeland of Galla Fattah, Egypt. Check out the exotic artist's vibrant, sunny portfolio on her website.
