Karachentsov refused to participate in the feasts after filming, but Boyarsky was not averse to drinking and chatting.

During the filming of The Elder Son, Nikolai Karachentsov signed with Lyudmila Porgina. Both marriages turned out to be surprisingly strong, which was rare in the acting environment.

The film brought success to another actor - 20-year-old student of GITIS Vladimir Izotov, who played Vassenka. He was promised a successful film career, but soon after a powerful film debut, he disappeared from the screens. Izotov starred in several more films, and then began to refuse directors and left the theater. None of his acquaintances knew about his future fate. Years later, it became known that the actor became a victim of swindlers, lost his apartment, went into himself and stopped communicating even with his closest relatives. They tried to find him more than once, but no one knows where he is now.
The film "The Eldest Son" not only earned the love of millions of viewers, but also won several awards: the award for the best script and the Intervision prize at the International Film Festival of Television Films in Prague in 1976, the sign of the laureate at the Factory Review-Competition of Leningrad Filmmakers in 1977 Unfortunately, the playwright did not know about the success of the adaptation of his play: 4 years before the premiere, 34-year-old Alexander Vampilov died in an accident - he drowned in Lake Baikal.
