In May of this year, Alice Cooper, the legendary rock performer, plans to come to the Russian capital, and not himself, but together with a group called the Hollywood Vampires. This musician told how he managed to get rid of alcohol addiction, it turned out that Jesus Christ became his assistant.
In the Hollywood Vampires musical group during its existence, in addition to Alice Cooper himself, Paul McCartney, Joe Perry, Joe Walsh, Zach Starkey, Johnny Depp, Dave Grohl, Slash, Robbie Krieger also took part. Many of these musicians, meeting together, loved to have a good drink. Moreover, Hari Nilsson, Keith Moon, John Lennon, Miki Dolenz and other famous personalities took part in such meetings over strong drinks.
Alice Cooper also loved a fun life, but 37 years ago he had to decide whether he wanted to die, as happened with many other musicians because of drugs and alcohol, or to overcome himself, to quit. First, he went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with chronic alcoholism. After completing a course of rehabilitation at the hospital, the rocker decided to turn to God.
At 70, Alice spoke about her grandfather, who was a preacher, about the pastor's father. The musician himself grew up in a church, but having escaped from home, he forgot about the church. He could return to her only when he almost died. According to him, the Christian faith does not prohibit becoming a rock star. Many people do not fully understand religion, because constant prayers are not so important, what is important is what kind of relationship they will have with Jesus Christ.
One of the American publications says that Alice Cooper married in 1976 and has always remained faithful to his wife. The couple have three children who do not have any problems with alcohol and drugs, and this is all thanks to faith. Now the musician reads the Bible every day, on Sunday he goes to church.
In one of his recent interviews with a Russian publication, the rocker said that many musicians cannot cope with drug and alcohol addiction. He is glad that he and his friend Joe Perry at some point were able to understand their plight and change their own lives. In the Hollywood Vampires group, there are many musicians who decided to make drastic changes in their lives, and therefore this musical group wanted to devote the first album to deceased musicians who could not cope with addiction.
