She was often invited to appear in commercials, and the most memorable was the commercial for the perfume "Nina Ricci".
For her gorgeous long hair Ruslana was nicknamed "Russian Rapunzel" in the Western press. She even took part in the casting for one of the roles in the film "Perfume", however, did not pass the audition. Her photos graced the covers of the most famous fashion magazines in America and Europe. She entered the world famous "Russian troika": Pivovarova - Vodianova - Korshunova.
On June 28, 2008, terrible news spread around the world of fashion: the top model Ruslana Korshunova fell out of the window of her rented apartment in Manhattan. The official version was suicide, although the girl had no motives for it. Her career was very successful, and in the future she was predicted to be one of the best models in the world. She had no shortage of money and fans. In his personal life, everything did not turn out so perfectly, but there were no reasons for depression. The girl did not take drugs and did not abuse alcohol, friends and acquaintances did not notice her suicidal tendencies.
The experts conducting the investigation did not consider the version of the murder: no signs of a struggle were found in her apartment and on her body, nothing indicated that she was thrown from the balcony. The examination showed that death occurred as a result of injuries received when falling from the ninth floor. However, close girls dismissed the very idea of a possible suicide. Ruslana's friend said that shortly before her death she communicated with her and did not notice the depressed state - the girl had just returned from Europe, where she participated in fashion shows, and felt “on top of the world”. She made plans for her upcoming birthday and planned to celebrate it in Pennsylvania. Ruslana's mother said that she was saving money to buy an apartment in Moscow and return to Russia.
However, there were also supporters of the version of suicide: they said that the fashion world is very cruel and only from the outside seems like a fairy tale. This work is associated with constant stress, moreover, the age of the model is very short and you have to build a career at a frantic pace. According to her colleagues, Ruslana was simply obsessed with work and was very afraid of losing her earned money. American journalists suggested that the girl simply could not stand the hard work in a foreign country at such a young age.
In addition, the model was carried away by the so-called "personal growth trainings", the organizers of which were repeatedly accused of driving the participants to suicide. In one of these companies, more like a sect, the girl was engaged for about three months. Experts say that such trainings inevitably lead to a loss of critical thinking, disorientation in value orientations and suppression of will. According to rumors, Ruslana was carried away by her coach, either who did not reciprocate her, or who left her for another girl.
Another version was an accident. There was a fence behind the balcony of her apartment, as the house was undergoing renovations. Near the balcony of the model, the mesh was torn, so it was suggested that the girl might have fallen off while trying to remove the mesh blocking the beautiful view. But her body was lying in the middle of the road, and many argue that such a trajectory could only be if someone pushed her. However, the concierge claims that that evening she returned home alone and no one came up to her.
