Specialists studying the Bible at the University of Texas, which is located in the town of Austin, have discovered an early Christian text, which is at least 1.5 thousand years old. The manuscript, according to experts, is the New Testament Apocrypha, which is known as the "First Apocalypse of Jacob." It belongs to early Christian literature. This text (like many others like it) is rejected by the church today and is considered heretical.

The unusual manuscript was discovered by researchers in the archives of the Egyptian Research Society at Oxford University. Most likely, it is part of the Nag Hammadi Library, a very ancient collection of manuscripts that was discovered back in 1945, near an Egyptian settlement called Nag Hammadi. This library includes texts from Gnostic Christianity. It, among other things, included elements of the philosophy of Hellenism and the mythology of Greece. Orthodox Christians have always viewed it as a heretical teaching.

The discovered manuscript is notable even for the fact that it is one of the few written in Greek. The fact is that most of the texts in the mentioned library were translations into the Coptic language - the most widespread at that time in Hellenistic Egypt.

The text under consideration describes the secrets of Christ's revelation to one of the seventy apostles - James. According to a number of popular versions, he was the Savior's brother. In these revelations, the messiah tells the story of the Kingdom of Heaven, narrates the death of Jacob, and foretells the future. The manuscript also contains an account of Christ's ministry.

Scholars believe that this text could also be used for educational purposes. Such thoughts of specialists are suggested by a perfectly even underscore and breaking all words into syllables.
