Alexandra Zavyalova's career began in the theater: after graduating from the theater institute in Leningrad, she was assigned to Brest. She dreamed of performing on stage and did not consider invitations from filmmakers for a long time. Everything changed when an application came from Alexander Zarkha, it was impossible to refuse from filming in the film "People on the Bridge". Afterwards, the incredibly touching film "Aleshkin's Love" was released, where the actress played along with Leonid Bykov.

The filmography of the actress was gradually replenished, and her name even came to the attention of the famous American photographer Philip Halsman. Preparing a retrospective of the cult personalities of the USSR, he invited Alexandra to the shooting. On the plane, she met the American Othello Cetiolli. The retired military man won Alexandra's heart, but their relationship was fleeting, only lasted a couple of weeks. Othello was married, Alexandra was also married to the artist Dmitry Buchkin, but both could not resist the feeling that suddenly gripped them. The novel ended tragically: the special services arrested Cezsolli, his career in the states ended there, and Alexandra was labeled as an unreliable actress at home. For several years I had to forget about filming. Upon her return, not wanting to lie to her husband, the actress tells him the whole truth and files for divorce, deciding to be left alone with her daughter in her arms.

All that followed was two decades of oblivion. The decision to give birth to a son at the age of 39, with whom Alexandra was soon separated, because, against the background of general depression, she ended up in a mental hospital. The actress was not destined to return to the stage; in a recent interview, she admitted that she considered herself absolutely unrealized. She received the title of Honored Artist of Russia only in 1994. Today she is remembered less and less, together with her daughter Alexander she is working on a book of memoirs. This great actress really has something to remember and something to tell!
