No, this is not a new collection of photographs from National Geographic or a photo report from a trip around the world, as it might seem at first glance. The author of amazing, colorful landscapes, the artist Ernie Button from Arizona, did not even have to go far from home to photograph this beauty. All he needed for work was a few packs of breakfast cereals, a camera, and some props to create the appropriate atmosphere. Everything else is sleight of hand, creative imagination, and a little CGI. For his art project, the photographer came up with a witty original name " Cerealism"which is in tune with surrealism, and quite justified. This can be seen just one look at those incredible landscapes that Ernie Button constructs from snacks, and then plays with lighting to give his work a more dramatic effect.

Talking about his project, the artist mentions how he loved breakfast cereals when he was little, but they were then too expensive to eat for breakfast whenever he wanted. As an adult and starting to make good money, he discovered that the range of cereals had expanded significantly, and the crispy figures inside the boxes resemble animals, fish, aliens, not to mention the number of little men, stars and letters of various colors. Breakfast cereals have gone from simple food to pure entertainment. So why not remember your childhood, and have fun with them in an adult way? Moreover, upon closer inspection, some of the figurines from the lunch boxes resemble the shapes and textures of the Southwest Desert of the United States. This is how the idea of the Cerealism art project arose, which began as an innocent entertainment for an adult with the soul of a child.

By the way, the clouds, clouds, thunderstorms, sunrises and sunsets over the "grain" landscapes are real. Once, as an experiment, Ernie Button tried to superimpose an enlarged photograph of the sky over Arizona on top of one of the images of the Cerealism project, and saw such a realistic landscape that he instantly took advantage of this accidental find. So the experiment turned into a deliberate creative move, and the Cerealism project opened up new horizons. By the way, you can see the pyramids and deserts, the underwater world and green meadows created from breakfast cereals on the Ernie Button website.
