From an American artist Sage Vaughn there was a very unusual childhood, which left an imprint on his work. Born into a family of two young hippies, the boy did not have the opportunity to play with expensive toys, and his parents never had enough money for cheap ones. Therefore, the child took up drawing, and soon found his own style, creative manner - and joined the movement of graffiti artists. Over time, and with age, Sage Vaughn's "street" excitement somewhat subsided, but all the same, this past is firmly embedded in his memory, and is reflected in the artist's modern paintings.
So, the city is gray, dull walls, gloomy landscapes, gloomy faces and asphalt pavements drenched in rain. While bright birds and butterflies on a gray background are life, the colors and emotions that graffiti artists fill this grayness with dilute despondency and sadness. Skyscrapers and highways look very unattractive against the background of bright, sunny figures that symbolize freedom and positive energy - that hippie spirit that the artist inherited.
Not only birds and butterflies, but often also children are those bright spots against the background of gray and dampness that the artist depicts on his canvases. Being a fan of the work of the writer Melville, Sage Vaughn believes that even during the war, birds continue to sing, butterflies flutter, and children play. These and other paintings can be seen on Sage Vaughn's website.

A young French artist and textile designer named Maud Vantours succeeds in all this. Her multi-layered colored cardboard works are amazing and beautiful
